Recovery513
Recovery513 is my way of staying connected to my recovery roots…it reminds me that on 5/13/2004 my life changed and in many ways began. For many years I thought something was morally wrong with me and/or I was going crazy. Addiction just does that…screws up the thinker! Importantly for me I found help, reached out, and have come to the understanding that I’m not really all that unique, but most of all, I’m not alone.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you find yourself struggling with addiction and not seeing any way out - recovery513@gmail.com.
The 12 Steps of NA and AA have saved my life. They have opened my heart and mind to a new way to live and most of all have led me to relationships I never thought possible with people I never knew could and would help save my life. God and I have grown in relationship too. He knows I still don’t understand Him and probably never will, but He’s cool with that, and loves me just the same.
This was the 1st anniversary chip I picked up away from my hometown of Nashville, where recovery for me started and my journey originated. This AA chip has so much to say and mean to me that each one is priceless.
A friend gave me the new 6th Edition of NA’s Basic Text and along with the “black key tag”, which signifies multiple years of recovery, this picture was just too good to pass up for me when I took it in 2008. Today, I attend Narcotics Anonymous meeting exclusively in the Boulder Region, here in Colorado. I’ve found that there are many 12 Step fellowships/groups that “could” fit, for me, but by finding 1 and spending my time there getting to know folks and share my experience, strength, and hope, it just works better than spreading myself out into several and not building relationships as well. It takes time to do this deal and I look forward to the rest of my life learning and living the way God intended me to…one day at a time.
